Senior Connect Day. March 17 - Mike Whitehurst
As the Chair of the Erskine College Board of Trustees and member of First Presbyterian Church, Columbia, I am looking forward to the upcoming Catawba Presbytery Senior Connect Day on Friday, March 17, 2023. I would like to extend a personal invitation to you and others from your church family to attend.
You will have the pleasure to hear our Erskine College President, Dr. Steve Adamson speak on the current state of higher education and how Erskine and other Christian higher education institutions, are addressing this crisis and providing a Christian Worldview alternative. Finally, he will discuss how we can work together to influence society for God’s Glory. Intergenerational ministry is very important as we as Seniors interface and invest in our next generation of young people.

Erskine’s 18th President Dr. Steve Adamson was educated at the University of Nebraska, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a master’s degree in applied mathematics. He did doctoral work in operations research at George Washington University, Washington, D.C.; completed an M.Div. degree at Sangre de Cristo Seminary, Westcliffe, Colorado; and obtained a Ph.D. In Apologetics at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. Steve has 15 years of experience in higher education, including accreditation and academic administration, and spent more than 15 years in the corporate world, working in defense contracting, management consulting, and telecommunications. Dr. Adamson brings a rare mix of corporate business, management and financial experience along with higher education and pastoral experience serving the free church of Scotland as a supply minister during extended periods from 2008-2009. Steve and his wife Von have been married for 36 years, have been in Due West for just over a year and attend Due West ARP church.
